Experimental Medicine is part of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine. Staff are based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, the Churchill Hospital, the Peter Medawar Building for Pathogen Research, the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Hospital. Support for Experimental Medicine is based on Level 5 of the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington with research units having their own admin support attached to where they are based. I am studying the spread of infectious disease, with a particular focus on bacterial infections and antibiotic resistance. My work involves using pathogen genetic sequence data to understand patterns of transmission, with the ultimate aim of improving disease prevention and control.
